Spring Pow Day

Just when I thought it was going to be spring park riding from here on out, boom, three feet of fresh in the last few days. Powder days are here again!

 Good morning fresh tracks. Craig.

A bit injured

I actually hurt my wrist three weeks ago learning a new spin on a bigger jump. Since then, the pain would come and go, but after having a super fun morning, I actually felt enough pain in my wrist all day to drive me to go the urgent care clinic. I ended up tearing some cartilage and quite possibly a ligament. Two hundred bucks later, I'm in a thermal hard brace with little use of my stupid wrist. Don't worry though, I can still shred.

Sunny Sunday

I've been logging long hours at work while riding most of the week. Too much fun. Today's riding was especially rad with the weekend crew, just shredding park and hit runs all day in the sun.

Sunny Park Day!

I had a blast getting my park legs back and learning a couple new tricks.
Shitty far away camera phone shots.
These dudes rip though.

Apres

A couple days ago I took a few laps before work with Mike Jones, Craig and Cory.

Mike Jones ripping through the trees.

Yesterday I rode a bit of park. The light was pretty flat so I came down for an awesome Apres with the French Connection. Louis T, Max P., Vince, and Cynthia.

Expedition.To.Van

For some reason, I decided to book a tattoo appointment right in the middle of an epic snow storm. I had a pretty awesome morning of riding yesterday before I was on my way around 11:30 to Vancouver. I took a fifteen minute bus ride south to Function Junction...I was told it's a great place to get picked up. Two rides and two hours later I was dropped off in North Van down by the docks.  My appointment ended up running longer than expected draining my energy, so I slept at my friend Alexa's house near by. Overall, I met some cool people and had some great conversations. Bummed I didn't get to see my other friends in Van though...Next time.

This is May. She picked me up in Whistler. Super friendly Squamish local who liked to cuss and complain. Very nice though.

Squamish. Raining.

This is Jordy. He likes to smoke cigarettes and weed with the windows up. He took me the rest of the way to North Van. A bit of a conspiracy theorist on this and that, but an excellent wilderness story teller.

I had to stop at Tim Hortons. Canadians love it more than Americans love Starbucks. Coffee not a latte.

Vancouver.

Sara. I always wanted a tattoo done by a girl. Don't know why. Rad artist.

In the morning I wasn't getting picked up and it was raining/snowing, so I decided to walk to a busier intersection.

Took some sweet side routes.

`
Dr. Dan! This guy was my favorite ride of the trip. He had just finished a 24 hour shift working in the paeds ward and was on his way home to Whistler. An all around good guy who rides 100 days a season in the winter and downhills and kite-boards in the summer.

Interestingly enough, we stopped in Function Junction on the way home to stop at Dan's favorite bakery. He bought me this tasty savory jalapeno cornbread and single drip coffee. Thanks Dan.

We also walked next door to a large art gallery his friend owned and shot the shit for awhile. Cool dudes. This awesome piece was $4000...NBD.
