Lift Line

While I was waiting in a lift line, I noticed a couple of my friends had their hands in the air making a sort of fist. Next thing I knew a bird had landed on one of their hands. So cool. So I gave it a try and sure enough a bird landed on my hand as well looking for food. I added a piece of jerky to ensure a landing and a bit longer stay of the bird. Of course then I had to hold the jerky with my lips and see if I could get a bird to land on my face....I was unsuccessful.

Status Update: Working and Shredding

I was waiting to get some pictures before I updated, but it's not happening right now...So anyway, I got a job waiting tables with my roommate Eric at a place called the Mongolie Grill. It's a create your own stir fry restaurant with kind of fine dining twist. Two days in and it seems like a super chill job. I feel really lucky to have found a job and a cool one at that so quick. I work five day shifts in a row this week so I'm going to have to get up to the mountain real early to get some laps in. Seems like every night is a hang out night with so many new friends. Pretty rad. Hopefully I'll be posting some photos soon.

Australia Day

So yesterday was Australia day(in Australia). It's a really big deal, especially to all the Aussies in Whistler. They listen to to top 100 songs on the Triple J radio station, bbq and get plastered all day. Sounds a bit familiar. We went shredding all day and I crushed an interview for a serving position and then Jenny was able to coerce me to go out to a party down the street. Nothing like being one of three non Aussies in a house. It was a pretty damn good party.

I have to admit, although funny, this was a pretty classic maneuver!

Pizza/Sewing Party

We made pizzas and did a bit of sewing at my friend Ashley's amazing house. Big shred day tomorrow and job interview to boot...oh and hopefully I'll have some footage of tomorrow.
Guess which one is mine.

Pow.Pow.Pow.Pow.Pow.Pow.Pow.Pow.

Couldn't get the pictures of yesterday's shred fest off my phone, but don't worry it was amazingly fun. A foot of fresh, nice nippy weather, cliff drops, face shots, hikes, trees, and huge pow turns. Here's some random pics from the other night...
Mr. Craigers with a nice hot drink at Moguls Coffee House. (It's the coolest)

Ashley also hanging.

Craig and Jenny posing like a nice young couple.

I was chucking a solid piece snow to see how thick the ice was...

We had an awesome game night where we played "The settlers of Catan". hahaha. Look it up.

Further into the game...it got pretty serious...

My First Shred Day...Whistler

This post should have been before the last, but hey whatever. Anyway... I went riding with Craig and Eric and it was a fucking BLAST! We started the day taking a couple lifts to the top and hiked a bit to get a little freshies. After a few of those, we headed over to one of the many parks and lapped it for quite awhile. After taking some laps, Craig had to go to work and then some other friends met up to sesh the park with us. Man, dudes are good. My skills were pushed day one. Sweet day.

Happy photo op. with my pseudo pass.

Me and Craig at the top of Grey Zone where we hiked for our first run. Killer.
Hanging out at the end of the day in the Peak to Peak Gondola with Anthony and Eric.

Yup....snow....and....some more...snow. NBD.

A Short Jaunt to the Village/Mountain

Passed on snowboarding today to go look for a job. I was pretty unsuccessful, partly because I'm too honest a person. Not to worry though, after a sweet pep talk with the roomies, I'm going to have a different game face....a lying face with at least two years experience in whatever I'm applying for! Here are some pictures of my fifteen minutes walk to the mountain.

Me and Jenny going on a walk into town.

The street our house is on.

This is Erik. He is currently living in my room until the end of January. He's rad!

This is Jenny my other roommate and Craig's foxy lady.

You guys know this joker.

My current room for a couple more weeks. Its super comfortable because I sleep right next to the heater and windows....therefore I get a cool draft while still being wrapped with some nice warmth.

Supa Whistla Post Coming Soon....

Having too much with no real downtime to work with pictures to actually post, but here's some photos from the travel debacle. For all you California snow kids, pay no attention to the white stuff.
 Amurika!

 Later S.F.

Snow in Seattle.

This is Cory's house in Vancouver. It was a sweet 9 bedroom with two living rooms and  two kitchens and filled with crusty kids.

Everyone's MotoBike in front of the house in Suburbia. Cory's is in front.

Downtown Vancouver.

This is where we pulled off to take a sweet photo and ended up smelling burning oil alerting us to our otherwise unknown car problems on the Sea to Sky Highway.

Craig's car officially died. It was a sweet area to stop but it was 14 degrees out.
Craig had to get out of the car to dance because his feet were freezing.

Travel Update

Well...Tomorrow's the big day. I'm traveling to the great white north to have a little bit of fun.

I fly out of SFO the 17 at 2:30 Pm and arrive in Seattle at 4:50 Pm.

From Seattle I plan to try to hitch up to Bellingham since I can't catch a bus for two hours(don't worry, I probably won't get picked up and end up catching a bus) Craig's being an awesome friend and picking me up from Bellingham, Wa so I can utilize my food stamps and stock up on groceries. Then it's the border town Blaine, Wa where I'll get my visa probably around 11 Pm or so. After that's all taken care of  we're going to drive up to Vancouver and stay with Craig's brother Cory for a night and a day. Then, finally, Whistler! Should be about 11 or so hours of travel the first day and 2.5 hours the next.

One Last Stick n Poke Party for the House of 912

Kat convinced Carly to get a tattoo last night, and so what ensued was a party.
I helped give Carly her first tattoo...

I let my apprentice(haha) Kat take over.

Hans and Dylan doing arts and crafts.

Kat giving a poke to Hans.

This Guy.

All the parks were closed today so again we found something else fun to do....DISC GOLF. It was pretty fun stuff. Dylan and Josh were way better than me. I held my own though.
